Anthropic is seeking a Strategic Partner Development lead with deep semiconductor ecosystem expertise to shape the company's platform strategy in semiconductors and structure commercial and technical partnerships. This is not a sales role but rather a strategic deal-making position at the intersection of frontier AI research and complex commercial negotiations.
You will join a small, senior team and serve as the primary owner of semiconductor partnerships, responsible for researching, sourcing, structuring, negotiating, and closing strategic collaborations across the semiconductor stack. You'll act as the internal expert on semiconductor partnerships, translating between silicon-industry realities and Anthropic's AI research and product roadmap.
Key responsibilities include navigating complex counterparty organizations (R&D, legal, IP/licensing, procurement) to close non-standard contracts and research agreements; structuring commercial software, IP, and technology-access agreements that preserve optionality for collaboration growth; coordinating cross-functionally across research, product, engineering, corporate development, policy, finance, and legal to scope and implement partnerships end-to-end; supporting executive-level engagements with strategic counterparties; and flexing into other Product Partnerships verticals as company priorities shift.
Ideal candidates have 8+ years in strategic partnerships, business development, technology licensing, or corporate development with meaningful experience in or adjacent to the semiconductor industry. You should demonstrate range as a deal-maker across multiple industries and deal types, with a track record of landing complex, multi-stakeholder partnerships involving commercial software, IP licenses, or technology-access deals. Working fluency in the semiconductor landscape is essential—you should be comfortable discussing design flows, PDKs, verification, and process nodes. Strong commercial and legal instincts on licensing, including EULAs, IP rights, and creative deal structures, are critical. You'll need genuine curiosity about AI/ML applications in hardware design and manufacturing, comfort with ambiguity in fast-moving environments, and excellent cross-functional collaboration skills.
Bonus qualifications include a technical foundation in electrical engineering or computer engineering, experience negotiating enterprise software at scale, and background in technology or IP diligence in M&A contexts.
