Anthropic's Beneficial Deployments team is hiring a Strategic Partner Development lead to structure and close data and product partnerships that bring Claude AI to high-impact areas including global health, life sciences, education, and economic mobility. This is a deal-making role, not sales.
You will own partnerships from ideation through signature, working with Beneficial Deployments partner managers, legal counsel, and research/product teams. Key responsibilities include: scoping partnership scope and value, designing deal structures that work for both Anthropic and partners, negotiating complex terms around rights, data use, privacy and security, maintaining pipeline visibility, and turning recurring deal patterns into scalable structures.
The role requires 8+ years of experience negotiating and closing agreements in business development, strategic partnerships, licensing, data/content deals, or corporate development. You must have personally led deals from term sheet through signature, including non-standard agreements. You are comfortable with complex negotiations around rights, use restrictions, privacy and security—and working closely with legal teams on both sides. You excel at cross-functional collaboration, especially with legal and relationship owners. You can manage multiple agreements simultaneously, exercise sound judgment in deal evaluation, and operate effectively with incomplete information.
Nice-to-have experience includes work with nonprofits, foundations, multilateral organizations, universities, health systems or governments; familiarity with health, education or research data governance; understanding of AI model development, product integrations and APIs; and prior experience at an AI lab, platform company, or data business.
This role is based in San Francisco or New York City with hybrid flexibility. The work directly impacts global health, education, and economic mobility outcomes.
