Salary: USD 90,000 - 120,000 / annual
Steno is a legal tech company revolutionizing how attorneys handle depositions. We're seeking a Strategic Operations Manager to join our growing team and partner directly with the Director of Strategic Operations to drive data-informed decision-making and operational excellence.
In this role, you'll serve as a bridge between analytics and execution, combining data investigation with cross-functional project leadership. You'll dive into operational data to uncover insights and answer critical business questions, then rally teams to act on those findings. Your responsibilities include:
• Analyzing operational data to identify trends, investigate anomalies, and generate actionable insights
• Building and maintaining dashboards that communicate operational performance clearly to stakeholders
• Leading complex operational projects from conception through completion, managing timelines, deliverables, and accountability
• Coordinating cross-functional initiatives spanning multiple departments and stakeholders
• Designing and rolling out process improvements and new workflows
• Facilitating strategic planning sessions and workshops
• Presenting findings and updates to stakeholders at all levels
• Proactively identifying business needs and planning initiatives in partnership with the Director of Strategic Operations
You're a self-starter energized by ambiguity who can prioritize with limited oversight and communicate with confidence to audiences ranging from individual contributors to executives. You're equally comfortable building a technical dashboard and running a workshop to translate insights into action.
Qualifications:
• 3–5 years of experience combining analytics and project management, ideally at a high-growth startup, bank, or consulting firm
• Advanced skills in data manipulation and visualization (Excel, Looker, Tableau)
• Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with modern BI tools such as Looker
• Proven track record leading cross-functional initiatives and managing multiple stakeholders
• Highly organized with ability to juggle competing priorities and complex timelines
• Endlessly curious, analytical mindset with strong follow-through
• Clear communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Self-starter who meets deadlines and spots opportunities independently
• Thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments with comfort for ambiguity and rapid change
• Bonus: experience with Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, Python/R, machine learning concepts, legal tech, or professional services operations
