Berry Street is building a new model for metabolic healthcare, providing medical nutrition therapy and GLP-1 prescribing covered by insurance. The company is at an inflection point with strong growth and real product-market pull, and is seeking a Strategic Operations Lead to help build systems that enable scaling through the next phase.
You will report directly to the GM, US and serve as a tech-enabled operator generalist. This is a builder role, not a project management position. You'll create systems from scratch, put them into production, and maintain them as needed. The work spans provider operations, patient experience, and the systems connecting them. Some weeks involve automating processes that touch multiple teams; other weeks require rolling up your sleeves on urgent, messy problems. The ideal candidate sees manual processes and instinctively asks how to make them run without human intervention, then executes that vision.
Key responsibilities include:
- Taking operational problems from manual and messy to automated and reliable across provider operations, patient experience, and connecting systems
- Building, shipping, and maintaining tools and workflows end-to-end
- Partnering with leadership, Product, and Engineering on scaling strategy, grounded in on-the-ground insights
- Creating visibility where it's missing so problems surface early and decisions are data-driven
- Jumping into whatever matters most and leaving behind systems rather than workarounds
The role emphasizes an AI-led mindset: you should look at operational processes and ask how they should be rebuilt from the ground up with autonomous systems doing work that wasn't possible recently. You'll have direct exposure to company leadership and the chance to drive healthcare impact from day one.
Requirements:
- 2-5 years in fast-paced, scrappy environments: early-stage startups, BizOps, Strategy & Ops, or operator roles where you were expected to figure things out
- Deep engagement with AI: you follow new model releases and tooling closely, try things the week they come out, and have informed opinions about what's real versus hype
- Ability to ship code: you use Claude Code, Codex, and similar tools to build and deploy real internal tools, integrations, and automations without waiting in an engineering queue
- Track record of building things that work, not just planning them: real examples of manual processes you replaced with systems you built and maintained
- Comfort with data: SQL, BI tools like Metabase, and working directly with APIs
- Comfort with ambiguity and limited resources; you prefer shipping something useful this week over waiting for perfect setup
- Strong judgment and communication; you can align and move clinical, operational, and technical people
- Experience in digital health, provider operations, credentialing, payer enrollment, or revenue cycle is a plus
