Runway is building generative AI tools for video and creative production, grounded in world models—AI systems that simulate and learn from the world to advance robotics, scientific discovery, and human progress.
You will join as Strategic Finance, a high-visibility role embedded in the executive decision-making core. You'll partner with the CFO, Head of Strategic Finance, and the broader executive team to drive financial strategy, modeling, and analysis across product, R&D, go-to-market, and operations.
Key responsibilities:
- Partner with Product, Research, and Engineering leadership to evaluate financial ROI and viability of new product lines, features, and R&D investments.
- Drive pricing and packaging strategies to maximize market penetration and revenue expansion.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to analyze and optimize unit economics (LTV/CAC, payback periods), sales efficiency, pipeline health, and customer retention.
- Serve as the analytical engine for the executive team, leading cross-functional initiatives to improve operational efficiency, optimize resource allocation, and scale business processes.
- Translate operational plans into financial models, identify risks and opportunities, and hold teams accountable to KPIs.
- Own the KPI infrastructure connecting product and revenue metrics to financial outcomes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and consistent reporting.
You'll work in a fast-growing, venture-backed AI company navigating rapid scale, complex product strategy, and significant R&D investment decisions. This role requires both analytical rigor and operating judgment—the ability to move quickly, communicate clearly to non-financial stakeholders, and thrive in ambiguity.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years of experience, including foundational analyst experience in investment banking or financial services, and high-impact operating experience in Strategic Finance, BizOps, or Corporate Finance at a high-growth technology company.
- Experience building and leveraging AI tools for yourself and for cross-functional use.
- Track record of operating through rapid scale: building and evolving financial models, planning processes, and reporting as company complexity grows.
- Strong fundamentals in financial modeling with a rigorous, quantitative approach to measuring operational success.
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to distill complex financial concepts into simple, digestible narratives for non-financial stakeholders.
- High bar for operational excellence and keen sense of translating complex, ambiguous business questions into clear plans of action.
- Genuine interest in AI and its implications for industry and society.
