Mistral is a full-stack AI company providing frontier models, developer tools, applications, and compute infrastructure. They partner with enterprises across finance, manufacturing, defense, healthcare, and the public sector to co-create customized AI systems. As a Strategic Data & Licensing Partnerships Negotiator, you will drive the acquisition of premium content and negotiate complex agreements to secure high-value data and content for AI training, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and distribution. You'll work with publishers, universities, research institutions, and data providers to build long-term relationships that enable Mistral to access quality, relevant sources while maintaining ethical data practices. Key responsibilities include: - Building and managing a pipeline of high-quality STEM, academic, robotics, and multimedia content while vetting providers for legal and business compliance - Negotiating complex, multi-pronged agreements including licensing, revenue-sharing, and co-development deals with major stakeholders - Developing long-term partnerships that promote fair compensation and sustainability for content creators and owners - Collaborating with Science, Product, and Go-To-Market teams to align content procurement with strategic objectives and evaluate make-vs-buy decisions - Providing regular reports and analytics on procurement activities to support data-driven decision-making - Designing programs that foster ethical and scalable content sourcing You should have a proven track record negotiating and closing complex deals ($10M+), deep understanding of AI training data ecosystems, legal acumen in data acquisition and content licensing including global copyright laws, and a strong STEM background. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, along with business acumen in market analysis and financial modeling. Fluency in English and French is required; additional languages are a plus. An existing network in publishing, academic, or research communities is valuable.
