Salary: USD 100,000 - 500,000 / annual

Tenstorrent is a high-performance AI computing company developing cutting-edge RISC-V CPU technology and AI platforms. The company is seeking an experienced in-house counsel to lead legal strategy during a critical growth phase in the highly-regulated AI industry. In this hybrid role based in Santa Clara, CA, you will serve as a trusted legal advisor across the organization, working closely with Finance, Procurement, Sales, Security, IT, People, Engineering, and Operations. You will handle a broad spectrum of legal matters including intellectual property, patent portfolio management, trademarks, technology transactions, sales and marketing compliance, standards participation, business development, M&A, recruiting, and procurement. You will be expected to make independent legal decisions, write and build processes that support business growth, and engage non-legal partners to move quickly and confidently. The role requires someone who is deeply curious about complex technology products, comfortable operating in ambiguity, and committed to building scalable legal infrastructure for a growing startup. You will have the opportunity to learn across multiple business functions and become a strategic partner who enables teams to operate with autonomy and speed. **Requirements:** - Juris Doctor degree and active membership in at least one state bar - 7+ years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department - Expertise or demonstrated ability to advise on a broad range of legal issues: intellectual property, sales, marketing, patent portfolio management, trademarks, standards participation, business development, M&A, recruiting, and procurement - Demonstrated interest in learning about complex technical subjects - Demonstrated commitment to building processes that improve growing businesses - Strong communication skills and willingness to engage diverse perspectives - Technology and business curiosity; ability to understand products and industry dynamics
