Salary: USD 173,000 - 257,000 / annual

Heart Aerospace is developing the ES-30, a regional hybrid-electric airplane with 30-passenger capacity, 200 km zero-emission range, and 400 km extended hybrid range, targeting type certification by decade's end. As a Staff or Principal Mechanical Design Engineer on the Flight Mechanisms team, you will own the design, development, validation, and certification of critical flight components including primary and secondary flight control actuators, propulsion and landing gear systems, and environmental control (ECS) components. You will exercise full ownership over the design, fabrication, and testing of novel flight mechanisms, leading the design of crucial subcomponents such as gears, bearings, and seals. Key responsibilities include designing and building components to aerospace environmental qualification standards (DO-160G, MIL-STD-810, or equivalent), performing FEA and hand-calculation analysis, and collaborating with electrical, software, and mechanical engineering teams to integrate complex systems. For Staff level: 8+ years professional CAD experience (NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, or similar), strong mechanical engineering fundamentals (design, FEA, fabrication), and hands-on experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electromechanical systems. For Principal level: 12+ years professional CAD experience with the same technical depth and systems expertise. Desirable qualifications include aerospace design and regulatory familiarity (FAA, EASA standards), advanced hand-calculation methods for complex mechanical systems, strong GD&T and manufacturing fundamentals, and proven ability to shepherd designs from concept through production independently and collaboratively. Requires Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or related discipline.
