Beacon Software is seeking its first dedicated Staff Enterprise Security Engineer to build and own the security program from the ground up. This is a hands-on, engineering-driven role focused on preventing, detecting, and responding to threats across Beacon's corporate and cloud environments, as well as its portfolio companies.
You will own the full enterprise security remit, including: prevention, detection, and response across corporate and cloud infrastructure; endpoint security stack (EDR, DLP, secure browser, hardening); incident response leadership and readiness; identity and access standards (MFA, SSO, SCIM, least-privilege); portfolio security baseline audits and ongoing monitoring; email security and phishing awareness; and vendor security reviews.
The role emphasizes automation and engineering excellence over alert management. You will develop and maintain the security stack across a complex multi-cloud, multi-SaaS environment, shape its architecture, and own the technical roadmap as the company scales. You will report to the VP of IT and Integration and collaborate with Beacon's engineering teams and portfolio company members.
This is a greenfield opportunity for someone who has built security programs at larger organizations and wants to define one from scratch with autonomy and real ownership. You should be highly independent, credible with non-security stakeholders, and deeply hands-on across endpoint, detection and response, identity, cloud, SaaS, and email security. The ideal candidate combines security engineering depth with the ability to build tooling and automation, threat modeling rigor, and comfort operating in ambiguity.
