CesiumAstro is seeking a Staff Wire Harness Design Engineer to join their team in Westminster, Colorado. The company develops advanced communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms, with a focus on the Skylark product line—cutting-edge active phased array antennas (AESA) for terrestrial and airborne applications.
In this role, you will take full ownership of wire harness design and development, serving as a technical authority on interconnect systems. Your responsibilities include designing critical power, digital, analog, and RF interconnects that integrate subsystems into cohesive platforms. You will lead the complete design process from specification definition through integration and test, including schematic development, cable routing, connector selection, and harness assembly drawings.
You will work in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment alongside electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and harness assembly technicians. Your expertise will be sought during design reviews, where you will provide technical recommendations to enhance performance and reliability of wire harness systems. The work spans high-power, large-scale ground terminals for missile defense applications to commercial airline and helicopter connectivity solutions.
This is a hands-on role in a dynamic startup environment focused on developing leading-edge hardware for space and aerospace systems. You will have autonomy and ownership over critical interconnect designs that directly impact system performance and reliability. The position requires a U.S. citizen or eligible individual due to government space technology export regulations.
