Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Principal Test Engineer to serve as the senior technical authority for test and evaluation across Connected Warfare's portfolio of systems including Eagle Eye, NGC2, and the Menace family. This is a senior individual-contributor role positioned above program ownership but below formal people management. You will provide technical oversight and mentorship to Staff and Lead Test Engineers across multiple concurrent defense programs. Your primary responsibility is to ensure technical coherence in test strategy and execution across Connected Warfare's applications—both software-enabled hardware and pure-software systems. You'll review and strengthen verification strategies (requirements-based, scenario-based, and operationally relevant), ensuring they scale appropriately and incorporate customer-required standards. Key responsibilities include: serving as the escalation point for complex, ambiguous, or cross-system test problems; identifying and driving reuse of test infrastructure, tooling, and lessons learned across programs; providing hands-on technical mentorship to program test leads; supporting Test Readiness Reviews and customer acceptance events; confirming traceability from requirements through verification and validation; supporting root-cause investigation on critical test findings; representing Connected Warfare in engineering design reviews (PDR/CDR) and customer technical exchanges; and contributing to hiring and onboarding of test engineers. You'll work across the full test lifecycle—from requirements development through HITL lab integration, developmental test, system integration, and operational assessment. This role demands deep technical judgment applied to other teams' work rather than personal execution output. You'll be the person program leadership calls when a test problem is genuinely hard or spans multiple systems. Required: Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline (advanced degree preferred); 10-14+ years in system-level test and evaluation of integrated hardware/software systems; 8+ years in technical leadership or test lead capacity; demonstrated technical depth across multiple Connected Warfare-relevant systems (tactical C2, sensor/mission autonomy, networked datalinks); proven track record across full test lifecycle.
