You will work across Grafana's product suite (Grafana Cloud, Loki, Tempo, Mimir) to produce content for diverse audiences, from first-time users to experienced practitioners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, research, write, and maintain documentation and learning content (concepts, tasks, tutorials, references, in-product learning) supporting product adoption and mastery
- Leverage AI tools and workflows throughout the content lifecycle—drafting, structuring, validation, consistency checks, and maintenance—while applying human judgment to verify accuracy
- Contribute to team AI workflows and identify opportunities to improve and automate content creation as tools evolve
- Partner with engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts to translate complex technical details into clear, accurate content
- Test documented procedures by running software yourself and flagging product and UX gaps
- Use documentation and learning analytics, along with user feedback, to identify content gaps, prioritize work, and demonstrate impact
- Collaborate with the documentation manager and writing team to improve information architecture, voice, and consistency across docs
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, using sound judgment to prioritize and communicate when plans change
- Mentor teammates and share practices that elevate team quality
The role is fully remote within the EU, part of a 100% remote company with team members across 40+ countries. Grafana Labs is backed by leading investors including Lightspeed Venture Partners, Sequoia Capital, GIC, Coatue, J.P. Morgan, CapitalG, and Lead Edge Capital.
Requirements:
- Experience writing or documenting enterprise or developer-facing software, with a portfolio or writing samples demonstrating technical depth
- Hands-on experience using AI tools and models in your writing workflow (LLM assistants, agentic coding tools, custom prompts/skills) and ability to explain how you evaluate and verify their output
- Experience with docs-as-code: command-line Git, GitHub (pull requests and reviews), Markdown, and common IDEs
- Comfort working in technical environments; ability to set up, run, and troubleshoot software yourself (command line, containers, Kubernetes, or willingness to learn quickly)
- Experience collaborating with engineers and product managers to obtain accurate technical information
- Experience working remotely and asynchronously on distributed teams
- Bonus: Experience with observability, monitoring, cloud-native tooling, or open source documentation contributions
Desired Traits:
- Curiosity about AI as a craft; treat AI workflows as a professional skill
- Technical credibility; care about accuracy and learn new technical domains quickly
- Strong judgment and editing skills; distinguish good content from plausible-sounding content
- Ownership mindset; manage multiple projects independently and collaboratively
- Clear, concise writing for readers of all experience levels
