Salary: USD 191,000 - 253,000 / annual
Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer to join its Washington, DC team. You will manage architecture and requirements for next-generation air and missile defense systems, ensuring requirements and architecture traceability through test and evaluations critical to fire-control certification processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Interface with internal programs and external customers to understand stakeholder needs
- Develop and maintain a robust requirements and architecture management plan
- Create systems engineering artifacts (contractual deliverables) based on stakeholder needs, working closely with functional teams
- Lead and develop requirements and architecture products with full traceability and configuration management across Fire-Control programs
- Participate in developing Anduril's Digital and Systems Engineering Strategy and Implementation
- Build deep understanding of Anduril's autonomy, simulation, and perception products through creation and maintenance of systems engineering artifacts
- Generate and track metrics; create and improve processes
- Present developed artifacts at stakeholder meetings and events
This role is critical to demonstrating Anduril's real Systems Engineering and Mission Systems Integration capabilities.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Currently possess and able to maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
- B.S. in aerospace, mechanical, applied physics, computer science, or similar engineering/technical field, OR 10+ years air and missile defense experience
- 12+ years of Systems Engineering experience across the full lifecycle
- Test experience, preferably in missile defense and space
- Understanding of Fire-Control systems and required safety and hazard mitigation practices
- Basic knowledge of reliability engineering concepts and practices
- Experience with systems testing and evaluation methodologies
- Experience with Systems Engineering, Requirements Elicitation and Management, Integration, and Test Activities on complex DoD Weapon Systems or Space Systems
- Experience with SysML, DoDAF, UAFP, or similar modeling standards
- Proficiency developing model-based systems engineering artifacts (Operational Viewpoints, System Viewpoints, activity diagrams, use case diagrams, BDDs, IBDs, parametric diagrams)
- Experience with Cameo MagicDraw or similar systems engineering software (Rhapsody, SparxEA)
- Experience with Digital Engineering workflows and Integrated Modeling Environments (e.g., Teamwork Cloud)
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills
- Experience generating and tracking metrics
- Experience creating and improving processes
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience modeling weapon systems and threat scenarios
- Knowledge of reliability prediction techniques and failure mode analysis
- Experience with test planning, execution, and data analysis for complex systems
- Experience with Cameo Simulation Toolkit plugin for Cameo MagicDraw
- Experience with AFSIM and Model Based Systems Engineering integrations
- Proficiency with Mathworks products (MATLAB, SIMULINK)
