Anduril Industries is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer to join the Space Special Programs team in Chantilly, Virginia. This role is responsible for the full lifecycle of spacecraft and space systems design, development, integration, testing, and operations. You will manage requirements, risks, budgets, and trade studies while interfacing across disciplines and with customers to ensure systems meet mission objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the design and development of spacecraft and associated systems from concept through operations
- Developing and maintaining system and mission designs, with particular focus on advanced space capabilities for military applications
- Managing system requirements, verification, and compliance across subsystems and disciplines
- Driving product maturity through rapid prototyping, design verification, and qualification activities
- Applying modern spaceflight hardware design standards to create high-reliability, manufacturable systems
- Serving as both an individual contributor and team lead, mentoring engineers and growing the systems engineering capability
- Interfacing with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, sales, logistics, operations, mission success) to deliver mission-critical space capabilities
- Communicating progress and technical decisions to customers and internal stakeholders
The Space Special Programs team develops advanced, unique space capabilities to support U.S. and allied military operations in an increasingly contested space environment.
