Peregrine Technologies is a Series B/C-stage AI platform company backed by leading Silicon Valley investors, serving public safety organizations, government agencies, and enterprises across 30+ states. This is a founding role on the Business Technologies team—the second hire—where you'll design and build internal infrastructure from the ground up rather than inheriting legacy systems. You'll work alongside a TPM Lead to define how identity, SaaS, and cloud platforms are built, automated, and scaled across the company. The role is engineering-first: workflow automation, system integrations, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and tooling that operates at company scale. You'll partner directly with IT, Security, and cross-functional business teams (Marketing, Finance, Sales, Legal) to translate business needs into scalable systems. You'll have the latitude to set architectural direction, not just execute on it. The goal is to bring the same rigor and scalability applied to customer-facing products to the systems the company runs on. You think in systems, not tickets—when you see a problem twice, you build the thing that prevents it. You're comfortable working directly with non-technical stakeholders, asking the right questions, translating requirements, and communicating trade-offs clearly. You thrive in growth-stage environments where you can scope ambiguous work, make architectural decisions without full consensus, and ship. You can hold both strategic project execution and IT support escalation without losing context. Required: 10+ years in systems engineering, IT engineering, or closely related infrastructure roles with a clear arc toward automation and software engineering. Strong Python and scripting/automation experience with a track record of building reliable workflows, tooling, or API-based integrations. SQL proficiency. Experience with identity platforms (Okta, Entra ID, OneLogin, Auth0) including SSO, SCIM, and access lifecycle management. Solid knowledge of MDM platforms (Jamf, Intune) including policy management and scripting. 2+ years with Microsoft 365 and Azure, AWS, or comparable cloud/SaaS infrastructure. Prior experience at a growth-stage company (Series B–D). Practical experience with LLMs and AI agents, with genuine interest in applying them to IT automation. SOC 2 or FedRAMP compliance exposure is a plus.
