Anduril Industries is seeking a Staff Systems Architect to own the electrical architecture for space-bound imaging payloads. This is a system-level role for an experienced engineer who can hold the entire payload in their head—defining electrical architecture, making build-versus-buy and COTS-versus-rad-hard tradeoffs, and going hands-on to lay out, bring up, and qualify hardware.
You will set technical direction for power, sensor, and interface electronics while remaining hands-on to see designs through to flight. Working in rapid design cycles, you'll aim to get capable, robust hardware into space in twelve months or less. You'll make well-informed engineering judgments about load-bearing requirements, iterate on real hardware, and demonstrate discipline in designing for manufacturability and test from day one.
Key responsibilities include owning electrical architecture for imaging payloads; leading design, layout, bring-up, and qualification of PCBAs spanning analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronics; translating sensor and system performance models into electrical requirements; driving rapid design-build-test cycles; designing for the space environment (radiation, thermal extremes, vacuum, vibration, launch loads); baking in design for manufacturability from the first schematic; leading board bring-up and integration in the lab and during environmental testing; partnering with firmware, optics, mechanical, systems, and program teams; mentoring other electrical engineers; and documenting architectures and test results to flight-readiness standards.
Required: 12+ years of electrical engineering experience spanning system-level architecture, electronics design, and hands-on test, with a track record of end-to-end ownership. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Demonstrated ownership of electronics architecture for complex electromechanical or sensor systems. Strong analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronics design experience with deep schematic capture and PCB layout proficiency. Proven experience with space or aerospace systems, radiation-hardened design, and environmental qualification testing is essential.
