Anduril Industries is seeking a Staff Systems Architect for its Imaging team to own the electronics architecture for space-bound imaging payloads. This is a system-level role for an experienced engineer who can drive designs from concept through flight qualification in rapid 12-month cycles.
You will own the complete electrical architecture for imaging payloads, including power, sensor, data, and interface electronics. You will make critical build-versus-buy and COTS-versus-rad-hard tradeoffs that balance performance, schedule, and cost. The role is hands-on: you will lead PCB design, layout, bring-up, and qualification across analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronics for EO/IR sensor systems.
Key responsibilities include translating sensor and system performance models into electrical requirements, driving rapid design-build-test cycles with real hardware iteration, and designing for the space environment (radiation, thermal extremes, vacuum, vibration, launch loads). You will own environmental testing (TVAC, vibration, EMI/EMC) and analysis that proves flight readiness. You will bake in design for manufacturability and assembly from the first schematic to support production scaling.
You will lead board bring-up, integration, and troubleshooting in the lab and during environmental testing. You will partner closely with firmware, optics, mechanical, systems, and program teams to drive integration and resolve anomalies quickly. As a technical anchor, you will mentor other electrical engineers, lead design reviews, and document architectures and test results to flight-readiness standards.
Required: 12+ years of electrical engineering experience spanning system-level architecture, electronics design, and hands-on test, with a track record of owning designs end-to-end. You must have a degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, demonstrated ownership of electronics architecture for complex electromechanical or sensor systems, and strong proficiency in analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronics design, schematic capture, and PCB layout. Experience with space systems, radiation-hardened components, and rapid prototyping is highly valued.
