Graphcore is seeking a Staff System Software Engineer to lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive test strategy for system software releases. You will own integration and system testing across firmware, BMC (Baseboard Management Controller), and Linux device drivers, working on complex server-class systems. In this role, you will architect and build automated test frameworks that verify integrated components across multiple software layers. You'll develop reusable testing tools, CI/CD pipelines, and packaging solutions that enable teams to move faster with confidence. Your work will establish quality gates for system software release packages and help maintain high standards across the organization. You will join a newly formed integration and system test team within System Software QA, partnering closely with firmware developers, hardware engineers, and QA specialists. You'll consult with package stakeholders, translate use cases into robust system tests, and drive root-cause investigations for cross-layer issues. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you'll mentor engineers, document complex technical decisions, and shape best practices through evidence-based reasoning. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in low-level system testing and integration across complex software-hardware boundaries. You should have strong knowledge of RTOS, boot logic, Linux, and device drivers, with proven ability to develop tests in Python and C/C++. Experience with hardware debugging, CI/CD pipelines, and build/integration tools is essential. You'll need excellent communication skills, the ability to mentor peers, and a track record of driving lasting technical improvements. Graphcore is an AI infrastructure company developing hardware, software, and systems infrastructure for next-generation AI compute. As part of the SoftBank Group, the company brings together AI researchers, silicon designers, software engineers, and systems architects to solve complex problems in AI compute.
