Graphcore is building the future of AI compute as part of the SoftBank Group. The company develops custom semiconductor and software solutions for AI infrastructure, including their IPU (Intelligence Processing Unit) technology.
As a Staff System Software Engineer on the Drivers and Utilities team, you will contribute to the planning, design, implementation, and testing of low-level kernel drivers and user-space driver library code. You'll be part of the system software department (alongside the firmware team) and report to the drivers and utilities team manager.
The Drivers and Utilities team is responsible for developing custom control software that runs on the host system in both kernel and user space. This team works closely with software engineers developing the Poplar SDK and with silicon/hardware engineers building Graphcore's IPU solution. Your work will enable customers to achieve maximum performance and utility from Graphcore's cutting-edge AI compute products.
This is a staff-level individual contributor role focused on systems software architecture and implementation. You'll be working on critical infrastructure that bridges hardware and software in an advanced AI compute platform. The role offers the opportunity to impact a high-growth company backed by significant long-term investment from SoftBank, working on some of the most challenging problems in AI infrastructure.
