Salary: USD 185,000 - 273,000 / annual
Motive is seeking a Staff System Software Engineer to design and develop next-generation on-edge IoT platforms. You will work on complex system features across Linux, Android Open Source Project (AOSP), and real-time operating systems, taking ownership of firmware and software architecture for hardware platforms that serve nearly 100,000 customers across transportation, logistics, construction, energy, and other industries.
In this role, you will design and develop high-performance firmware and software for cutting-edge IoT platforms, debug and optimize firmware on multi-core architectures, and develop automated testing to validate designs. You'll present architectural recommendations, engage cross-functionally with hardware and cloud teams, and validate features using cloud-based analysis at scale.
You bring 8+ years of software development experience with deep expertise in AOSP, Android OS, and Linux. You have strong proficiency in Kotlin, Java, and C++, with hands-on embedded programming experience on Linux and/or real-time operating systems. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent is required. This is a hybrid role requiring 2 days per week in the San Francisco office.
