Halo Industries is a pioneer in manufacturing innovation using light-based technologies to replace traditional processes with novel laser-based equivalents, delivering higher quality, lower cost, and enhanced functionality. We are seeking a Staff System Integration Engineer to lead the integration, testing, and deployment of our cutting-edge laser-based wafer manufacturing systems. In this role, you will serve as a technical anchor for our integration workflows, leading cross-functional collaboration during early design phases to define system interfaces and resolve electro-mechanical, optical, and software mismatches before physical builds begin. You will actively execute the physical integration of complex laser-based manufacturing prototypes, working directly with hardware to seamlessly bring together diverse subsystems. Key responsibilities include architecting the overarching system test strategy and executing complex test plans with complete coverage from subsystem characterization to full-scale validation. You will perform deep-dive, system-level root cause analysis to resolve complex multi-disciplinary issues, write scripts and build automation tools to configure and optimize system parameters, and mentor junior engineers on practical troubleshooting skills. You will also partner with manufacturing teams for smooth system handoffs, authoring robust documentation and presenting performance reports to engineering leadership. This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can work directly with complex electro-mechanical systems, perform data analysis, and troubleshoot technical challenges in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. REQUIREMENTS: Basic Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or highly related technical field - 8+ years of hands-on experience in system integration, ideally within semiconductor, laser, or precision manufacturing environments - Proven hands-on experience assembling, integrating, and testing complex electro-mechanical systems including optics, lasers, motion control, and automation hardware - Strong proficiency with data acquisition and analysis tools (MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python, etc.) Preferred Qualifications: - Proficiency in software programming/scripting languages such as Python or C# - Deep practical experience with high-precision laser systems, optical alignment techniques, complex system calibration, precision motion systems, or electrical distribution systems - Working knowledge of semiconductor wafer manufacturing processes, equipment, and constraints - Experience deploying and scaling automation tools and testing frameworks in lab or manufacturing settings - Exceptional cross-functional communication and problem-solving skills
