Salary: USD 220,000 - 292,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The Air Dominance & Strike (AD&S) division develops autonomous robotics systems including the Fury unmanned fighter jet and Barracuda family of advanced effects. The Vehicle Software team is responsible for the software running on these systems.
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will collaborate with other engineering disciplines to develop software for vehicle control, networking, sensor integration, and telemetry. You will build the foundational vehicle software stack supporting AD&S initiatives from early concept simulation through first flight, live operations, and large-scale fleet management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing production-grade C++ and/or Rust software in Linux environments
- Building software solutions involving significant data processing and analysis
- Navigating and enhancing complex systems and established codebases
- Contributing to critical software with real-world military impact
- Traveling up to 30% of the time for field testing, deployment, and real-world validation
Required qualifications: BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field; 9+ years of production C++/Rust experience in Linux; ability to understand complex systems; eligibility for U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
Preferred qualifications include strong background in Physics/Mathematics for modeling and simulation, experience with multi-agent autonomous systems, behavior tree development, flight systems and safety-critical software, distributed communication networks, and knowledge of military systems and operational tactics.
