You will join the Travel integrations team as part of Rippling's Spend Suite, which encompasses corporate cards, expense management, procurement, and bill pay. The Travel team is building the next frontier of integrated corporate spending solutions. Your mission is to develop the best travel management platform for employees, finance teams, and travel managers.
In this role, you will:
- Craft exceptional platform solutions that benefit multiple teams and create seamless user experiences
- Serve as a hands-on technical architect and liaison between product leadership, engineering leadership, and technical workstreams
- Tackle complex engineering challenges and devise innovative solutions that push technical boundaries
- Own your projects end-to-end, making impactful decisions and driving successful implementation
- Lead and mentor highly talented engineers across the Travel organization
- Become a true authority on one of Rippling's newest and most influential products
Requirements:
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong track record in backend development and distributed systems
- Proven ability to design large-scale, fault-tolerant systems from scratch; understanding of trade-offs between consistency and availability
- High agency: thrive in ambiguity, identify business problems, scope technical solutions, and execute independently
- Domain agility: intellectual curiosity to master complex domains (e.g., treasury and money movement) quickly, even without prior background
- Deep proficiency in a modern backend language (Python, Go, Java, etc.) plus experience with complex data modeling (SQL/NoSQL)
- Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to both engineering and non-engineering audiences
