Salary: USD 187,000 - 234,000 / annual

Addepar is a global data and AI platform serving 1,400+ investment firms managing nearly $9 trillion in assets. The company unifies portfolio, market, and client data to deliver AI-powered insights within investment workflows, integrating with 650+ software and data partners. You will join the Trading suite team, which builds scalable, tax-efficient trading and rebalancing platforms for wealth management firms. The suite includes Rebalancing, Order Management System (OMS), and Investment Book of Record (IBOR) products, targeting sophisticated rebalancing strategies across equities, mutual funds, and fixed income. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will play a significant role in driving complex, long-term technical designs from concept to delivery. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you architect and implement engineering solutions to solve complex problems, write well-designed and testable code, and lead individual project priorities and deadlines. You will collaborate with product managers, engineers, and partners; act as an engineering representative to clients and product support; mentor other engineers on the team; and communicate technical direction with a focus on solving business challenges. Key responsibilities include architecting scalable, resilient, and secure solutions; leveraging deep expertise in software design patterns and distributed systems; participating in strategic product design and development; and providing active support during US business hours. Required qualifications: B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience; 8+ years of software engineering experience; expert-level proficiency in backend development with Java focus; experience with databases (SQL, NoSQL, OLAP, data lake architectures); deep knowledge of software design patterns, API design, and SDLC; proven ability to influence technical direction and contribute to complex system architecture.
