Snowflake is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Snowpark Container Service team, part of the Snowflake Compute Platform. This role focuses on building an elastic, high-scale, cloud-native compute platform that enables customers to deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications without moving data out of Snowflake. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will design and develop features that meet customer requirements and business goals while leading a team of engineers. You'll mentor team members, establish technical direction and strategy for critical product areas, and manage all aspects of projects including design, coding, reviews, testing, observability, tooling, and on-call support. Your focus will be on building highly reliable, fault-tolerant software that serves Snowflake's largest customers, with emphasis on operational readiness, reliability, availability, debuggability, and performance. You'll design and build Kubernetes-based, OCI-compliant container compute platform features that scale with evolving business and customer needs. Snowpark Container Services is in early development stages, offering significant opportunity for outsized impact on Snowflake's growth. Ideal candidates bring 10+ years of industry experience building large-scale systems or infrastructure platforms, with extremely strong fundamental computer science skills and distributed systems expertise. Hands-on coding experience in Java, C++, or Go is highly desirable. You should be a collaborative team player who works across functions and teams, with excitement for learning and growth. Bonus experience includes building products with Kubernetes, designing multi-cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP), and implementing multi-tenant systems with focus on performance, isolation, and security. The role requires on-site presence in the downtown Bellevue office.
