Aleph is an AI-native Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) platform addressing a multi-billion dollar market. Founded by technical leaders from Stanford, MIT, Google, Microsoft, and Bain & Company, and backed by top-tier VCs including Khosla Ventures, Bain Capital Ventures, and Y Combinator, the company works with customers like Webflow, Notion, Zapier, and Y Combinator itself. As a Staff+ Software Engineer on the Product team, you will own and lead major product surfaces across Aleph's product lines. FP&A software presents a unique full-stack challenge: building dense, performant UIs for finance teams who use the platform daily; designing data models that maintain correctness across actuals, forecasts, and scenarios; integrating with business systems of record; and incorporating AI-native features like orchestration, tool calls, and retrieval. You will take projects from conception through launch and iteration, working directly with customers and cross-functional teams. Key responsibilities include owning features end-to-end across product lines, building spreadsheet-grade UIs over large financial datasets, designing scalable data models and APIs, developing AI-native product capabilities, and raising the engineering bar through excellent code, thoughtful code reviews, and clear communication. The ideal candidate has shipped highly intuitive products with attention to detail, built across the full stack in ways that supported broader systems, and is comfortable engaging directly with customers to understand problems before coding. You should have a track record of adoption—systems you've built that other teams have adopted because they were well-designed. You possess strong fundamentals across the entire request path from UI to data store, high agency (founder or engineering lead background), pragmatism in tool selection, deep care for code quality and correctness, and clear communication across technical and non-technical audiences. Experience building complex B2B products, ideally from scratch, is expected.
