Salary: USD 405,000 - 485,000 / annual
Anthropic is seeking an experienced Staff+ Software Engineer to join the Platform Ecosystem team, a founding team within the Platform organization. The role focuses on empowering industries to build on Claude and creating the commercial infrastructure for businesses to succeed on the platform.
You will drive 0→1 initiatives from ideation through delivery, working closely with product, design, research, and forward-deployed engineers. The role requires strong product sense and the ability to navigate ambiguity while making sound technical decisions independently. You'll move across diverse technical stacks and go deep when needed to unblock opportunities and ship high-quality products.
The Platform Ecosystem team is organized around two pillars:
Verticals: Build capabilities, integrations, and workflows for emerging API markets such as Life Sciences & Healthcare. You'll understand industry-specific needs, learn what matters to each market, and ship products that unlock new customer categories on the platform.
Monetization: Design and operate systems that enable businesses building on Claude to price, package, and sell their products with confidence. This work sits at the intersection of product, platform infrastructure, and go-to-market strategy, directly shaping ecosystem growth.
You should have a minimum of 8 years of practical backend or platform engineering experience, with some frontend exposure. You take full ownership from design through build, deployment, and operations. You're comfortable with AI tools in the development process, care about building robust and scalable solutions, and have experience in both 0→1 and mature team settings. The role requires navigating new domains quickly and building systems that engineers and businesses love to use.
Location preference is given to candidates in New York, Seattle, San Francisco, or the Bay Area. The company expects staff to be in offices at least 25% of the time, though some roles may require more.
