As a Staff Software Engineer on the Platform team, you will own the platformization roadmap for shared services, architecting a multi-year plan to decouple existing functionality into highly reusable, company-wide services. This is a high-impact technical leadership role that directly improves developer experience, productivity, security, and scalability across the engineering organization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Define a 1-3 year roadmap and vision for Shared Services platformization
- Author clear, comprehensive architectural design documents for cross-team consumption
- Estimate technical resources and requirements for major initiatives
- Drive execution of platformization projects, ensuring delivery milestones are met
- Develop well-tested features with appropriate test coverage, reducing defects and improving throughput
- Serve as the recognized technical expert for platform areas, solving complex engineering problems
- Review technical designs to ensure proper integration and alignment with business needs
- Present technical work and demos to broader engineering organization
You will report to the Senior Director of Platform Engineering and have the flexibility to work from either the Kitchener or Vancouver office.
