Zocdoc is a leading healthcare marketplace that empowers patients to find and book in-person or virtual care across all 50 states, 200+ specialties, and 12,000+ insurance plans. As a Staff Software Engineer on the Marketplace Acquisition team, you will own the technical systems that drive patient discovery and engagement at the top of Zocdoc's funnel.
Your core responsibilities include leading the technical direction of the acquisition platform, ensuring stability, scalability, and exceptional user experience. You'll architect and build scalable APIs and microservices that power fast, reliable data access for patient decision-making. Your work spans the full stack: backend services, AWS infrastructure, React frontends, and integrations with third-party systems like Contentful.
A significant focus area is SEO infrastructure—you'll drive the evolution of systems powering thousands of patient-facing pages, ensuring they're discoverable, fast, and trustworthy. You'll also iterate on provider profiles and practice pages to create seamless experiences that build patient confidence.
Beyond individual contribution, you'll mentor engineers across the team, establish coding standards, drive automation, and foster a culture of technical excellence. You'll actively participate in Zocdoc's company-wide AI initiative, bringing AI into your day-to-day development, contributing to organizational standards and guardrails, and multiplying the output of engineers around you.
You'll collaborate closely with Design, Product, and Marketing to align strategy and deliver measurable business impact.
