Okta's Device Identity and Access organization is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the design and implementation of critical macOS and iOS client software that secures millions of enterprise endpoints globally. This is a high-visibility, hands-on role where you will act as a technical leader and force multiplier, architecting solutions at the intersection of deep client-side platform engineering and distributed systems. You will partner closely with Product Management, Engineering Directors, and Principal Architects to translate strategic business objectives into technical roadmaps. Your responsibilities include driving cross-functional collaboration with Product, Design, and QA; leading the design and implementation of new features from conception to deployment; mentoring Senior engineers and guiding technical design reviews; and raising the engineering bar across the entire pillar through rigorous code standards, comprehensive automated testing, and modernized CI/CD pipelines. The role leverages AI-native engineering practices, utilizing AI coding assistants to accelerate delivery. You will also spearhead technical innovation by identifying emerging industry trends such as advanced device security or AI-native development paradigms and prototyping solutions to keep Okta ahead of the curve. The Device Identity and Access organization is at the forefront of Okta's Zero Trust vision, transforming the device itself into a secure, trusted, and effortless identity factor. The work secures millions of enterprise endpoints globally, prevents modern identity attacks, and makes world-class security invisible to end users.
