Conga is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to help shape the architecture and technical direction of its cloud-native commercial operations platform. You'll design and build highly scalable, resilient backend services that power mission-critical revenue operations for enterprise customers worldwide, including over 50% of the Fortune 100.
In this role, you'll work closely with engineering leaders, architects, and product teams to drive technical excellence, mentor engineers, and influence key architectural decisions across distributed systems. Your impact extends beyond individual services—you'll help define engineering standards, shape platform architecture, and influence how teams build secure, scalable, high-performing solutions.
Conga's platform supports critical business processes including pricing, contracting, and revenue management. Systems you design must handle high volumes of data, deliver exceptional reliability, and scale as customers grow.
Required qualifications include 5+ years developing large-scale, complex applications with Java; strong backend expertise in multi-threading, messaging, streaming, performance optimization, and horizontal scalability; hands-on experience with Cassandra and NoSQL databases; strong knowledge of Redis; experience with cloud platforms (especially Microsoft Azure); solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and event-driven design; proficiency with OOP, design patterns, SOLID principles, and clean architecture; experience with SQL/NoSQL databases; familiarity with Agile methodologies, BDD/TDD practices, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), Docker, and Kubernetes; and excellent analytical and communication skills.
Nice-to-have skills include experience with AI-assisted development tools, Java 21, Dropwizard, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, and Azure Service Bus.
