Salary: USD 230,000 - 270,000 / annual
Maven Clinic is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for Infrastructure to drive the technical vision and roadmap for its Infrastructure Teams. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and maintenance of highly scalable, performant, and reliable systems supporting Maven's growing platform and backend needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead design, development, and maintenance of scalable, performant, reliable systems for Maven's platform and backend teams
- Propose, design, develop, and implement cloud-based solutions ensuring agility, flexibility, and scalability
- Drive technical design discussions and provide guidance on best practices, coding standards, and architecture principles
- Collaborate with and lead cross-functional teams on new features and products that meet customer needs and quality standards
- Mentor mid-level engineers, developing their technical skills and fostering continuous learning
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and trends to drive innovation and improve engineering processes
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Minimum 8 years of backend development and platform architecture experience with proven track record building scalable systems
- Experience designing and implementing complex distributed systems, microservices architecture, containerization, and orchestration
- Strong expertise in cloud-based solutions (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) including infrastructure as code and serverless architectures
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages (Java, Python, Go, etc.)
- Experience leading technical design discussions and mentoring junior engineers
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, collaboration, and communication skills
