ServiceNow is seeking a Staff Full Stack Software Engineer to design and build AI-powered tools for application development. You will work at the intersection of UI, backend, and AI-driven engineering, architecting solutions that improve developer experience and drive engineering excellence across the platform.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and implement AI-powered tools for application development using cutting-edge technical approaches
- Architect and build core web technology stacks including authentication, event tracking, application platform, and design systems
- Drive architecture and engineering standards at team and division level, promoting best practices for modular, scalable web apps and APIs
- Design, develop, and maintain microservices-based applications on Kubernetes to improve scalability, reliability, and deployment speed
- Collaborate with product, ML, and engineering teams to enhance developer experience and increase customer adoption
- Expand product reach to new customers, domains, and global markets while maintaining high engineering quality
- Integrate AI into engineering workflows and decision-making, automating processes and applying AI-driven insights
- Operate with startup-level ownership and autonomy within a larger organization
Requirements:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience building scalable, high-quality applications
- Expertise in Java, JavaScript, and modern UI frameworks (React, Angular, or Lit) — required
- Hands-on proficiency using AI tools (Copilot, Claude, or similar) in day-to-day development work — required
- Strong command of UI design principles, usability, cross-browser compatibility, and accessibility standards
- Experience with REST, JSON, AJAX, and relational databases
- Experience with event-driven and stateless architectures, functional programming, and abstract data types (ADTs)
- Demonstrated experience driving architecture and engineering standards at team or division level
- Strong critical thinking and track record of integrating AI into engineering processes, workflows, or decision-making
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills and strong product sense
- BS or higher in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Constant thirst for learning and willingness to work outside comfort zone
- Backend development experience with Java is an added advantage
- ServiceNow platform certification and/or development experience is a strong added advantage
