Fanatics Betting & Gaming (FBG) is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Full Stack to lead the design and development of a highly scalable, fault-tolerant online sportsbook platform. You'll drive technical strategy and hands-on contributions across critical systems including sportsbook market integration, risk management, and backend infrastructure that power seamless customer experiences for millions of sports bettors.
As a Staff-level engineer, you'll provide technical mentorship to the team, guide architectural decisions, and analyze complex system challenges to ensure robust and efficient solutions. Your responsibilities include driving the full development lifecycle—from ideation and architecture through testing, documentation, and production deployment—while maintaining the highest standards for code quality, scalability, and operational excellence.
You'll collaborate closely with product, design, and cross-functional stakeholders to make high-impact technical decisions that balance business goals with long-term system scalability. You'll lead incident resolution as part of the on-call rotation, proactively identify and remove technical roadblocks, and champion improvements to software quality, testability, and team documentation. Your role includes steering team planning and design discussions, conducting elevated code reviews, and introducing innovative approaches to solve complex technical challenges.
