Relativity Space is building Terran R, a commercial rocket vehicle designed to deliver payloads to orbit. The Terrestrial Software team is responsible for the digital backbone of the company's automated rocket factory and integrated launch platform. As a Staff Software Engineer on the Factory Platform team, you will play a key role across the entire software development lifecycle—from initial concept and trade studies through design, implementation, and ongoing iteration. You'll develop enterprise-wide applications used by engineers and operators across the company, including tools for planning and scheduling purchasing and manufacturing operations, accessing and analyzing engine and component test data, and other mission-critical systems. Your responsibilities include: - Designing and implementing full-stack applications that solve complex manufacturing and launch operations challenges - Working directly with cross-functional teams (design, materials, manufacturing, test, and launch) to understand system requirements and deliver solutions - Following agile development practices and implementing quality software with continuous integration and deployment - Solving complex problems with simple, elegant solutions - Mentoring and guiding other engineers on technical decisions and architecture The role offers significant autonomy and ownership. You'll see your work directly impact rocket manufacturing and launch operations, with the opportunity to shape the technical direction of systems that will eventually support autonomous operations on Earth and beyond.
