This Staff Software Engineer role is for a seasoned full-stack technical leader who operates across multiple teams and systems. You will solve the organization's hardest technical problems, define architecture and engineering strategy, and multiply the effectiveness of engineers through mentorship and influence without formal authority. Key responsibilities include: defining and driving technical architecture across multiple teams; partnering with engineering and product leaders on high-impact initiatives; setting technical direction and establishing best practices organization-wide; mentoring engineers at all levels and developing other technical leaders; tackling complex problems spanning multiple systems; driving performance, scalability, and security improvements; owning major cross-team initiatives end-to-end; and evaluating new tools and practices to improve engineering effectiveness. Required: Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or related field; 8+ years hands-on software engineering with 3+ years driving technical architecture/strategy across teams. Backend expertise includes deep knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch for high-scale distributed systems, plus RESTful API and backend architecture design. Frontend expertise requires expert-level JavaScript, React, and modern frameworks; state management (Redux, Zustand, React Query); ES2015+, TypeScript, Webpack, Jest, Tailwind, and TDD; plus browser rendering and accessibility knowledge. General skills: system design at scale, CI/CD pipelines, cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure), DevOps, and excellent cross-functional communication. You are a strategic thinker balancing long-term architecture with pragmatic delivery, enjoy mentoring, and are driven to raise the engineering bar. This role supports a FedRAMP environment and requires work performed in the United States by authorized individuals who are U.S. citizens.
