The Infrastructure team powers Harmonic's ability to process millions of startup signals in real-time. The frontend currently serves hundreds of users running complex queries across millions of companies, building sophisticated searches, and collaborating on deal flow. The company is at an inflection point and needs to transform the frontend from functional to flawless as it scales.
As Staff Software Engineer for Frontend Platform, you will own core infrastructure priorities: reliability (robust error handling, graceful degradation, resilient flows for critical investment decisions), performance (rendering thousands of rows smoothly, fast filtering, non-blocking data visualizations), and developer enablement (better abstractions and patterns to help engineers ship with confidence).
You bring 7+ years building frontend applications at scale with deep expertise in React, TypeScript, and modern build tooling. You have a proven track record fixing production performance issues at scale and strong opinions on frontend architecture backed by real shipping experience. You will fix core reliability issues, optimize performance through virtualization and bundle optimization, build monitoring and observability, establish testing strategies, create abstractions and patterns, and drive technical decisions while mentoring the team through complex migrations. Experience with discovery systems, search, recommendation systems (CRM, ATS), or venture capital/private markets data is a bonus.
