Archer Technologies is an aerospace company building all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for sustainable air mobility. The company is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to design and maintain critical full-stack tools and automations that enable aerospace engineering teams to operate efficiently while maintaining compliance with internal and external standards. In this role, you will develop full-stack web applications and integration tools using TypeScript, JavaScript, and Go. Your work will span web applications, APIs, and desktop environments, with initial focus on managing airplane system test lab configurations. You'll identify gaps in existing processes and workflows, leveraging vehicle development knowledge to optimize toolchains and integrations. A key responsibility is building reliable, scalable, and maintainable infrastructure while documenting work and championing best practices across the engineering organization. You will collaborate closely with hardware engineers, embedded software developers, and integration/lab teams to understand their requirements and deliver the tools they need. This is a full-stack role requiring expertise in modern front-end frameworks (React/TypeScript), back-end development (Node Express or Gin), relational databases (PostgreSQL), and DevOps practices. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience), 5+ years of professional software development with emphasis on tooling/automation/DevOps, and 2+ years of aerospace industry software tool development experience. You must have hands-on experience with front-end development, back-end development, relational databases, Git version control, code reviews, and testing practices. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with GraphQL and Hasura, modern React/TypeScript libraries, automated testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library), Tailwind CSS, RESTful APIs, containerization (Docker), Kubernetes orchestration, and hardware communication standards (CAN bus, ARINC-429, RS-422).
