Kaseya is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to build and maintain the internal developer platform (IDP) that powers the company's engineering teams. The role focuses on creating paved roads, tooling, and infrastructure that enable developers to ship faster, safer, and more consistently across the organization.
Key responsibilities include building and maintaining paved-road templates and golden paths within the Backstage Internal Developer Platform; provisioning and managing Amazon EKS clusters across development, staging, and production environments on AWS; designing and managing AWS networking including VPCs, CIDR allocation, VPC peering, site-to-site VPNs, and Transit Gateway; supporting Central Inspection Hub onboarding and implementing secure egress controls; building and maintaining observability capabilities across metrics, logs, and traces using Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, VictoriaMetrics, and OpenSearch; developing and managing CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows using GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, and Kargo; and automating infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform/OpenTofu with an infrastructure-as-code and GitOps approach.
Required qualifications include strong hands-on experience with AWS networking (VPC design, CIDR allocation, VPC peering, Transit Gateway, site-to-site VPN); strong Kubernetes administration experience (cluster management, RBAC, pod identity, Amazon EKS); experience building or contributing to an Internal Developer Platform with Backstage experience strongly preferred; strong GitOps and infrastructure-as-code mindset focused on automation; and ability to work effectively across cloud infrastructure, security, networking, and developer experience.
Preferred qualifications include Backstage plugin development experience; hands-on experience with service mesh technologies such as Istio or Envoy; experience setting up or integrating SSO and identity providers such as Zitadel or Microsoft Entra ID; OIDC and modern identity and access management patterns experience; and experience operating observability platforms using Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, VictoriaMetrics, or OpenSearch.
