Salary: USD 405,000 - 485,000 / annual
Anthropic is seeking a Staff+ Software Engineer to lead the Developer Experience (DevX) team, which owns the surfaces developers interact with daily: the Console, documentation platform, SDKs across seven languages, and CLI tools. This role spans two major workstreams: DevX Core and SDKs.
In DevX Core, you'll drive technical direction for the Console and docs platform—the front door for every developer on the Claude Platform and for dozens of internal teams shipping features. You'll establish platform patterns, standards, and best practices that guide how teams build against these surfaces.
In SDKs, you'll own the SDK ecosystem across seven languages plus CLI, ensuring every new platform capability lands as an idiomatic, ergonomic feature on day one. You'll partner with API teams early, drive code generation and testing infrastructure, and maintain consistency across languages while shipping at speed.
You'll work with product and design from problem definition through launch, mentor peers, drive cross-team alignment, and establish engineering standards and component architectures. The role requires deep full-stack expertise, particularly in modern frontend (React, TypeScript) and backend development, with a proven track record leading complex developer-facing products. You should thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, have startup or 0-to-1 product experience, and excel at influencing without authority.
Minimum 8 years of practical engineering experience with 2+ years at Staff level or equivalent technical leadership. Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. Visa sponsorship available. Hybrid policy: 25% in-office minimum, though some roles may require more.
