Harvey is an AI platform transforming legal and professional services through frontier agentic AI and enterprise-grade infrastructure. The company is at a critical inflection point with strong product-market fit and world-class investor backing, founded in 2022 and scaling rapidly.
As one of the first hires on Harvey's central data platform team, you will architect and build the foundational systems enabling every team to work with data confidently and independently. This is a platform charter focused on leverage and trust, not a pipeline queue.
Your immediate focus will be establishing the ingestion and warehouse foundation: reliable streaming and batch paths into Snowflake, CDC from production systems, orchestration, and schema evolution that absorbs upstream changes gracefully. The platform must handle PII correctly and honor multi-region data residency by design—critical constraints for customers in highly regulated industries.
Your charter expands to modern data platform capabilities: transformation and compute frameworks, self-serve tooling for teams to build pipelines against tested primitives, real-time stream processing for products and internal systems requiring sub-batch latency, and quality/lineage/governance layers ensuring trustworthiness throughout.
You'll own the data platform's architecture and technical direction, treating data infrastructure as a software product. Key responsibilities include: building and operating the ingestion layer across streaming, batch, CDC, and third-party connectors; landing data into Snowflake with predictable freshness and cost; owning orchestration (scheduling, retries, backfills, dependency management); building transformation frameworks and self-serve tooling; designing stream processing infrastructure; implementing the trust layer (quality, observability, lineage, cataloging); establishing patterns for PII handling and multi-region residency; and setting technical standards through design reviews and mentorship as the team grows.
You'll sit between Analytics, Data Engineering, product teams, and Infrastructure, transforming currently distributed and improvised work into a cohesive system. This role offers the opportunity to define a new category in real time alongside a high-performing team committed to excellence.
