Salary: USD 215,000 - 260,000 / annual

Crusoe is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company building the complete stack from energy to cloud services to power large-scale AI workloads. The company is solving the energy bottleneck in AI compute through an energy-first approach. You will join as a Staff Software Engineer owning the technical direction and evolution of Crusoe Cloud's container registry—a critical system on the deployment path for every job launch. The registry directly impacts how quickly customer AI workloads come online, and you'll be accountable for its performance, reliability, and scaling as the platform grows. Key responsibilities include: - Setting the architecture and scaling roadmap for the container registry, establishing patterns and standards the team builds against - Driving high-impact changes end-to-end from design through production, staying accountable for scalability and reliability - Developing performance strategy across the system, profiling and optimizing before demand curves reach customers - Mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar through architecture review, design guidance, and code review - Influencing technical decisions across adjacent teams and leading technical response during incidents You should bring 8+ years of professional software development experience with proven success designing and scaling distributed systems in high-load production environments. Deep expertise in performance optimization, profiling, and benchmarking is essential. You'll need strong fundamentals in microservices, cloud-native infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform), and languages like Go, Rust, Java, or C++. Experience with system-level ownership, mentoring other engineers, and cross-functional collaboration is critical. Bonus qualifications include familiarity with OCI image and distribution specs, container registry product experience, and large-scale storage or caching systems.
