Continuity is Rad AI's care coordination and follow-up product that helps radiology teams ensure important findings don't fall through the cracks. The team builds and operates applications, APIs, and integrations that turn clinical data into actionable workflows for customers, with emphasis on reliability, scalability, and operational excellence in a HIPAA-compliant healthcare environment.
As a Staff Software Engineer on the Continuity team, you will develop large-scale progressive and single-page web applications that streamline user workflows. You'll work on Python and FastAPI backend services including REST APIs and ML pipeline services, build features for rapidly growing customers, and write code meeting internal standards for security, style, and maintainability in a high-scale HIPAA environment. You'll collaborate with Product Management, ML, Data Science, Customer Success, and other stakeholders to iterate on features and address defects. A key responsibility is advocating for improvements to product quality, security, and performance with company-wide impact, and mentoring engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, design collaboration, and development of strong engineering practices.
Required: 7+ years of industry engineering experience with single and multi-tenanted environments; in-depth knowledge of Python and FastAPI or equivalent modern languages/frameworks; knowledge of relational and document-based databases and large-scale data storage paradigms; modern web architecture and best practices; unit and integration testing experience; distributed team experience with strong git skills; performance optimization experience at large scale; experience with AI-assisted development tools while maintaining high code quality standards.
Nice to have: PostgreSQL experience; 3rd-party integrations (Auth0, Amplitude); early-stage startup experience; HIPAA-compliant environment experience with FHIR and HL7; machine learning experience.
