As Staff Software Engineer for the Consumer Wealth domain, you will define technical strategy and architect complex subsystems powering savings and investment features. You'll design and build scalable, high-quality systems that solve complex financial engineering problems, simplify back-end systems, and drive technical alignment across the organization. This is a thought leadership role where you'll represent the technical vision, stay ahead of emerging fintech trends, develop the next generation of technical leaders, and champion a culture of high-quality engineering. You'll contribute directly to Consumer Wealth back-end infrastructure using Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
Key responsibilities include defining the technical strategy for the Consumer Wealth domain with cross-product considerations, advancing the architecture of complex subsystems, building cross-organizational relationships to drive technical alignment, developing talent and mentoring engineers, and generating measurable impact on user wealth growth through infrastructure contributions.
The role operates on a hybrid model: three days per week in-office (Tuesday, Thursday, plus one day of your choice), with flexibility to request additional remote time.
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 7 years of back-end software engineering experience in product-based companies
- Proven track record architecting, building, and maintaining microservices and complex cloud environments
- Deep expertise in Java and strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
- Interest in financial products and wealth management systems
- Ability to communicate in a structured, convincing manner and build cross-organizational relationships
- Proven ability to generate intellectual property, lead technical vision, and capitalize on emerging technology trends
- Passion for fintech or startup environments
- Fluency in English
