OneTrust is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead technical direction for the Consent & Preferences team. This is a high-impact individual contributor role where you own outcomes, not just designs. You'll decide how ambiguous, cross-cutting problems get solved when no existing playbook applies, and your technical judgment carries weight across teams you don't formally manage.
In this role, you will lead architecture and design for systems with significant scope and blast radius, ensuring decisions hold up under real growth, compliance, and reliability constraints—not just initial requirements. You'll pay close attention to application performance and exercise judgment on where AI-assisted tooling accelerates delivery versus where deeper human design thinking is required.
You'll collaborate cross-functionally with product, data, and infrastructure teams to shape how consent and preference management evolves within OneTrust's AI-Ready Governance Platform. Your work directly impacts how thousands of organizations worldwide manage data responsibly at scale.
