Anthropic is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to build core infrastructure software for datacenter lifecycle management. The role focuses on creating systems that track and manage every aspect of datacenter operations—from site sourcing and building design through equipment procurement and construction progress—consolidating fragmented spreadsheets and legacy tools into a single source of truth. You'll embed directly with Anthropic's datacenter, energy, and supply chain teams to deeply understand their workflows, identify bottlenecks, and build the tools they depend on daily. Key responsibilities include designing and building systems for tracking datacenter lifecycles, migrating and reconciling messy legacy data, integrating with industry-standard tools (construction management, scheduling, engineering systems), and implementing fine-grained permissions and auditability for decisions involving major capital allocation. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of full-stack software experience with strong data modeling, API, and database skills. Prior experience building software for physical-world industries (datacenters, construction, energy, manufacturing, supply chain, logistics) is highly valued. You should have a track record of zero-to-one work in startup environments, be deeply user-centric, and communicate effectively across engineering, operations, and research teams. Bonus qualifications include datacenter experience at hyperscalers or operators, familiarity with domain-specific tools (Procore, Primavera P6, CAD/BIM, DCIM), background in electrical/mechanical/civil engineering or supply chain, and experience building products with large language models. The role is early-stage with immediate real-world impact, shaping how one of the largest infrastructure buildouts in the world gets executed.
