Hinge Health's Content Platform team is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to provide technical leadership for the next generation of media and AI content pipelines. The platform powers the creation, management, enrichment, localization, publishing, and delivery of content across treatment experiences—including video, audio, images, captions, and text used by applications like Phoenix and Carehub. In this hands-on Staff Engineer role, you will design and ship systems that coordinate media processing, AI-generated audio and video assets, captions, localization, publishing, and quality control. You'll work across service boundaries to turn complex content operations into reliable, reusable platform capabilities, helping partner teams and content creators move faster with less operational risk. Key responsibilities include delivering large projects that introduce new product capabilities, breaking down complex problems into manageable tasks, collaborating on technical strategy and roadmapping, mentoring junior engineers through code reviews and pairing, and integrating AI technologies to automate processes. You'll also proactively improve maintainability, availability, and performance of the team's features, contribute to architecture and developer tooling, and communicate technical ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical partners. The role requires 10+ years of professional software development experience, with 4+ years in at least one programming language and 4+ years across the full software development lifecycle. You should have 3+ years with React JS and Node.js/TypeScript, 1+ years mentoring junior team members, and experience with AI tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and LangChain. Preferred qualifications include platform-as-product mindset, strong backend and distributed-systems fundamentals, experience integrating LLMs into production, SLO/SLA definition and maintenance, observability improvements, headless CMS integrations, durable workflow orchestration (Temporal), media processing tools, event streaming (Kafka), and healthcare/regulated-environment experience. This is a Bengaluru-based hybrid role requiring 3 days/week in-office (Mon-Wed). The position involves regular collaboration with Hinge Health colleagues in San Francisco, with applicants expected to be open to late-evening meetings (India Standard Time) to accommodate the 12.5-hour time difference.
