Ping Identity is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Data Platform team, focusing on next-generation QA automation and AI-driven testing capabilities for enterprise identity governance and AI agent management.
You will design and develop intelligent test automation frameworks covering Identity Governance features such as certifications, lifecycle management, workflows, and Separation of Duties (SoD). The role emphasizes building AI-powered testing solutions that leverage LLMs to generate test scenarios, expand coverage, identify defects, and accelerate the testing lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, and maintain QA automation frameworks and test suites for identity governance capabilities
- Build AI-driven test automation that leverages AI/LLMs for scenario generation, coverage expansion, and defect detection
- Create automated validation for AI agents, tools, MCP servers, workflows, APIs, and enterprise integrations across functional, integration, regression, performance, security, and end-to-end testing
- Develop intelligent automation for test failure analysis, root-cause identification, and regression analysis
- Collaborate with Engineering, Support, Product, and Security teams to troubleshoot issues and deliver automated regression coverage
- Validate AI agent performance, usage, operational health, security, and reliability
- Contribute to automated logging, metrics, monitoring, and observability validation
- Explore emerging AI testing frameworks, interoperability standards (MCP, Agent-to-Agent communication), and autonomous QA automation technologies
- Leverage AI coding assistants and agentic development tools to improve productivity and test coverage
- Document technical designs, automation frameworks, test strategies, and QA engineering best practices
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, QA automation, test engineering, or related technical discipline
- Strong programming experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and/or Java
- Strong proficiency with Google Cloud, AWS, and other cloud infrastructure technologies, including testing and troubleshooting cloud-based distributed systems
- Strong experience designing, building, adapting, and maintaining scalable QA automation frameworks using tools such as Jest, Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to rapidly create new test harnesses, adapt existing automation to new architectures, and continuously improve test coverage
- Strong experience owning test strategy and test inventory, including exploratory, functional, regression, mini-regression, end-to-end, and release validation testing
- Strong ability to analyze failures, establish reproducible test scenarios, collaborate on root-cause analysis, and drive efficient, high-quality releases
