Ping Identity is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the PingOne SSO team within their multi-tenant SaaS product organization. The role focuses on designing and delivering major features for PingOne Authentication and SSO services in a high-scale, cloud-based environment serving Fortune 100 enterprises.
You will architect and implement secure, reliable Java-based microservices and APIs supporting authentication, authorization flows, SSO, federation, and application integrations. Key responsibilities include designing major features across PingOne services, partnering with Product Management, Architecture, UX, and SRE teams to shape solutions from discovery through production, and improving service resilience, observability, and operability for mission-critical customer-facing services.
The role emphasizes raising engineering standards around testability, maintainability, and production readiness in a continuous deployment environment. You'll drive quality strategy and test automation approaches, participate in on-call rotation, lead incident response and root-cause analysis, and mentor engineers to improve team-wide engineering practices.
Essential qualifications include working knowledge of OIDC, SAML, and WS-Fed protocols with hands-on SSO/federation integration experience. You need significant experience building and deploying highly scalable cloud services in multi-tenant SaaS environments, demonstrated Staff-level Java development expertise, and fluency with object-oriented design and modern engineering practices. Experience with ReactJS, microservices, REST APIs (preferably Spring framework), and production SaaS operations including on-call responsibilities is required. Strong technical judgment, proven mentoring ability, and excellent communication skills across globally distributed teams are essential.
