Overjet is the world leader in dental AI, serving thousands of dental providers and insurers. The company is growing rapidly and seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the technical evolution of IRIS, one of its core products that integrates imaging and clinical workflows at the dental chair.
In this role, you will own the architecture evolution of IRIS, making strategic technical decisions that enable the product's future while working with a highly capable engineering team. You'll drive integration between IRIS and dental imaging hardware, third-party device ecosystems, and other services across Overjet's platform. A key focus is reducing engineering toil through tooling and structural improvements, while ensuring reliability and correctness in a system used daily in clinical settings.
You'll need a minimum of 5+ years of deep expertise in Windows systems development, including process management, inter-process communication, concurrency, and hardware/device integration. Strong proficiency in C# and .NET is essential, along with comfort in async programming and cancellation patterns at scale. The ideal candidate cares deeply about reliability and correctness in production software, operates with a long-term architectural mindset, and builds tooling and structure that compounds value across the team. Familiarity with AI tools and their judicious use in systems development—including agentic approaches to debugging and diagnostics—is a plus.
